Police

In 2018 the Hutchins City Council approved a 6-million-dollar bond expenditure to construct a new public safety building for Police and Fire. Construction was completed in December of 2021 and the Police department moved into the new facility in January of 2022. The Hutchins Police Department is made up of twenty (22) sworn Officers and nine (9) civilian personnel in our Communications, Records, Code Compliance, and Animal Services divisions. The Hutchins Police Department has an annual operating budget of 3.6 million dollars.

The mission of the Hutchins Police Department is to effectively and efficiently provide for the protection of lives and property, preserve the public peace, and provide needed community services with the highest level of professionalism and ethical standards.

Integrity: The Hutchins Police Department is built upon a foundation of ethical and professional conduct. We are committed to the highest level of moral principles and ethics.  All members of the department will adhere to the Law Enforcement Code of Ethics which is adopted into this manual.
